Tajne Komplety Bookshop Café is probably the only place in Wrocław where one can do some reading in the language of Allen Ginsberg?s or Terry Eagleton?s in a friendly atmosphere with a nice cup of coffee. A few hundreds of constantly updated titles of the world?s prose in original languages and their translations (including a wide selection of the Polish literature), XX-century social philosophy classics, literary studies and cultural studies; essays, reportages, poetry and contemporary history ? and things that wouldn?t fit on shelves can, with most certainty, be ordered on request. Of course Tajne Komplety has its shortcomings. The prices are not damaging, the music sounds sensibly and the selection of books does not irritate with literature nobody knows why called popular. Among other things that lack here are all kinds of practical guidebooks which are supposed to tell us why and how to live ? we act here according to Oscar Wilde?s motto: I love talking about nothing? It is the only thing I know anything about.
Tajne Komplety is located in the very center of the market square, in an alley surprisingly cut off from the city buzz ? at Przejście Garncarskie 2. One needs to turn into the city hall building opposite the fountain or Bierhalle beer-garden, that?s it.
One can order a book online and collect it later in the bookshop without any additional costs.
